Money Transfer

With the advent of internet banking, people do no longer have to carry huge amount of money while traveling, either within the country or across the shore of one’s country.

If you do not have a bank account, just open your normal savings account. You could open with any bank of your choice in Nigeria. Make sure you obtain your ATM card. We recommend Visa ATM. Master Card equally does the magic. With your ATM card, you can withdraw money from any ATM machine in Ghana as you would normally do in Nigeria.

Some of the Nigerian banks that also have branches across Ghana include Ecobank, UBA, Access Bank, Union Bank, First Bank, GTB. Because of its low charges and nearness to the people, we recommend you open account with Ecobank.

Meanwhile, if you are travelling by road, you will need to have between N7k to  N10k with you to be changed into Ghana Cedis at the last border before entering Ghana. This money will be used to eat, drink and transport within the country.

Once again, before jumping into the plane or vehicle to Ghana, check the ATM card with you if it is the correct type. It must either be VISA or MASTER card.

Warning: On no account MUST you have more than N10k in your pocket. Leave the bulk of your money in your bank account. Your ATM card will do the wonder when you arrive Ghana.
